Project Manager – remote

Project Manager is needed for a remote contract role that will establish & manage the cross-functional project plan, identify & raise dependencies and connective tissue, drive the team to meet deadlines, and is engrained in the day-to-day execution of the project to deliver a holistic & cross-functional project management program ensuring the successful execution of the Compass strategy & all of its dependencies. This PM is needed to work and interact with VP Technology, Product Mgmt. Director & DPG teams.
 
Remote. Working MST hours preferred
 
Must Have for this role:
  • Looking for a person who has strong hands-on experience in working in technology projects.
  • Need someone who has worked with multiple and complex projects at a time and a should have strong cross functional experience.
  • We are also looking for a rapid collaborator who can spot the things that are not right and lighten them up.
  • This person should have minimum 5+ years of experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Must have experience in Jira, Confluence, Asana, Smartsheet.
  • Need PMP Certification.
  • Need baseline level of technical sophistication
  • Worked on technology projects before such that they know when to involve stakeholders
  • Have enough experience they’re able to identify technology dependencies as they relate to the other functions & stakeholders
  • Relay technical details -- Need to ensure important details are not lost in translation
  • Soft Skills: Strong high-level communication. Good listener and should be able to ask questions. Should be able to adapt the new things.
 
Description:
  • Leverage PMP skills and relevant experience to work with team leads & executive sponsor to assess, recommend & implement a cross-functional project management approach to drive the strategic execution of the client's project.
  • Lead cross-functional project management in a highly-coordinated program supporting end-to-end execution of the project within the scope agreed, ensuring that all milestones are successfully completed on time and within budget
  • Establish and actively manage the cross-functional project plan with team leads and executive sponsor
  • Design and document a master best practices project plan at an end-to-end level that can be utilized for current and future products
  • Document & communicate to team leads & executive sponsor at-risk areas defined as but not limited to: at-risk deadlines, net new budget requirements, misaligned dependencies, strain in the cross-functional team, dependencies with shared services. Present recommendations to mitigate risk.
  • Motivate and hold teams accountable to achieve program objectives, meet deadlines, ensure proper acceptance of deliverables by cross-functional team, executive sponsor and senior leaders
  • Lead in project management reporting within the established or new PMO function, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and consistently implementing enhancements
  • Work with the team leads & executive sponsor to connect execution of the project to the active strategic oversight and planning activity (i.e., Compass Steering Committee)
 
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
  • 5+ years experience managing multiple complex cross-functional projects
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools and techniques - PMP Certification
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Superior problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and address issues proactively
  • Displays and acts with intellectual curiosity, initiative, integrity, maturity, and professionalism
  • Adept at business and project management tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Asana, Jira, Smartsheet, Confluence, Slack)
