A Technician Associate is needed for a contract opening in Fort Wayne, IN. Utilizes DDS software to analyze distribution utility poles for the purpose of adding grid modernization equipment or line rebuilds associated with transmission and station projects. Tracks due dates for assigned projects, and works with the design team and others like PM’s or line coordinators to ensure designs are accurate and high quality.
Job Summary:

- This position supports all 4 I&M districts and will require travel across service territory. Overnight travel would only come into play during a storm if asked to support damage assessment, otherwise all travel is day trips. This group supports design of Grid Modernization and Transmission related projects.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years or related utility industry work experience; or an Associate’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Civil/ Mechanical Engineering Technology or related fields.
- Possesses basic computer literacy, knowledge, and skills.
- Can read and understand schematic drawings
- Comfortable with Customer Service and Data Entry
- Microsoft Excel, Outlook
- Experience in electric utility is a plus.
