Electrical Engineer – Industrial Motor Expert

We are seeking an Industrial Motor Expert with a strong background in electrical engineering and deep expertise in AC and DC motors. This individual will play a critical role in supporting the design, measurement, and validation of motor performance across diverse industrial applications. Working closely with our Hardware Product Manager, this role will ensure that our products are developed with precision, reliability, and performance in mind.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical measurements of AC and DC motors, including amperage, voltage, load testing, and efficiency evaluations.
  • Design, set up, and conduct test procedures for a variety of motors used in industrial and manufacturing settings.
  • Analyze motor performance data and provide technical recommendations for product development and optimization.
  • Collaborate with the Hardware Product Manager to translate measurement data and engineering insights into product specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant electrical standards, safety protocols, and industry best practices.
  • Support troubleshooting, diagnostics, and validation testing of motors in R&D and production environments.
  • Document test results, prepare technical reports, and contribute to product design documentation.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in motor testing and industrial applications.
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience with industrial motors (AC and DC).
  • Proficiency in electrical measurements, including current, voltage, resistance, and power calculations.
  • Strong understanding of motor control systems, industrial power distribution, and motor performance metrics.
  • Experience with diagnostic tools, meters, and specialized equipment for motor testing.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with product and hardware teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of industrial manufacturing environments and safety standards (OSHA, IEC, IEEE, or equivalent).
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in product development or bringing hardware products to market.
  • Familiarity with motor simulation software or modeling tools.
  • Advanced certifications in electrical engineering or motor technologies.
