Technician

A Technician is needed for a contract opening in Benton Harbor, MI. This position will utilize DDS software to analyze distribution utility poles for the purpose of adding grid modernization equipment or line rebuilds associated with transmission and station projects. Tracks due dates for assigned projects, and works with the design team and others like PM's or line coordinators to ensure designs are accurate and high quality.

Minimum Requirements:

• Associate Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Civil/ Mechanical Engineering Technology or related fields plus 2 years of related utility industry work experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and 4 years of related utility industry work experience.
• This position supports the Michigan district and will require travel across the Michigan service territory. Overnight travel would only become a possibility during a storm if asked to support damage assessment, otherwise all travel is day trips. This group supports design of distribution REP and customer projects.
• Experience in the electric utility is a plus, minimum associates degree preferred but not required.
• Must have a valid drivers license and will be required to utilize personal vehicle for daily travel when needed.
