The AI Trainer in this contract role in Columbus, Ohio will play a critical role in advancing 2026 strategic initiatives by integrating generative AI into internal operations while maintaining data security, employee trust, and operational excellence. This role focuses on enabling staff to use AI effectively—not replacing employees—by delivering hands-on training, developing AI-supported workflows, and partnering with organizational leaders to identify high-impact use cases.The AI Trainer will support immediate and ongoing operational needs while helping scale responsible AI adoption across the organization. The AI Trainer will help transform AI from a promising technology into a trusted, everyday resource—amplifying human expertise while keeping people at the center of the work.
Key Responsibilities
AI Training & Enablement
- Design and deliver practical, role-based AI training for staff across departments.
- Increase adoption and effective use of existing AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot and other generative AI platforms).
- Develop training materials, documentation, and best practices for generative AI use.
- Provide direct, on-demand AI support to leadership and staff for time-sensitive operational needs.
- Identify, prototype, and implement generative AI solutions that improve workflows and business practices.
- Support the development and refinement of custom chatbots and internal AI tools.
- Explore and pilot emerging AI technologies, including models for video, image, and advanced reasoning applications.
- Translate complex AI capabilities into simple, actionable tools for non-technical users.
- Partner with organizational leaders to conduct AI ideation sessions and needs assessments.
- Participate in interviews and discovery efforts to identify pain points and high-impact AI opportunities.
- Support strategic planning tied to interoperability with universities and external partners.
- Contribute to follow-up planning sessions with internal and external AI experts as needed.
- Ensure AI use aligns with organizational data security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
- Educate staff on responsible, ethical, and secure AI usage.
- Help define guardrails, policies, and governance structures for AI adoption.
- Track AI adoption, usage, and organizational impact.
- Document and scale successful AI use cases that significantly reduce time, effort, or cost.
- Continuously refine training approaches and tools based on feedback and performance outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Experience training adults or professionals on technology, digital tools, or AI.
- Strong working knowledge of generative AI platforms and tools.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, practical guidance.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills.
- Comfort working in a fast-evolving, exploratory environment.
- Experience developing or supporting custom AI tools or chatbots.
- Familiarity with Microsoft enterprise environments.
- Background in higher education, research, or complex organizational settings.
- Understanding of data security, privacy, and responsible AI practices.
- Experience leading AI ideation or innovation workshops.
