Seeking a Station Electrical Engineer contractor in Roanoke, VA with experience specific to station engineering required.- Candidates local to Roanoke or surrounding areas.
- 40 hour work week. Flex schedule – 4x 10hr or 5x 8hr. No OT expected.
- Possible site visits but overnight travel is not expected.
Responsibilities:
- Function as a Lead SME on multiple topics.
- Work with other Station Engineering SMEs to support the regional teams.
- Work with Station Engineering Production team on quality reviews.
- Support the development of training for the Station Engineering Role.
- Support Station Engineering for special projects as needed.
- Mentor and train personnel as requested.
Job Requirements:
- Prior Substation Engineering experience required.
- Knowledge of NESC (National Electrical Safety Code) Code and current industry standards.
- Has typically acquired 6 or more years of related engineering experience along with a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in a program accredited by ABET*; Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico** is encouraged and preferred.*ABET – Engineering
Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. Acceptable alternatives are (1) a Bachelor’s degree in engineering (non-ABET), plus a Professional Engineers (PE) license in any state of the U.S. or (2) a Bachelor’s degree in engineering (non-ABET) plus a Master’s degree in engineering from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor’s program.** Confirmation is required to ensure the PE obtained in Puerto Rico aligns with NCEES standards.
