Project Mgr Prin

We are seeking a Project Manager to lead intermediate to complex utility and construction projects. This role supports project execution and bid development, managing schedules, budgets, and teams while ensuring safety, compliance, and stakeholder satisfaction. Ideal candidates have strong leadership skills, experience in utility or commercial construction, and expertise across project management disciplines.
Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution
  • Lead planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout of assigned projects
  • Conduct planning meetings, public engagement, outage updates, and stakeholder presentations
  • Provide clear written and verbal reports to leadership and project stakeholders
Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce safety standards and processes, ensuring a Zero Harm work environment
  • Hold team members and contractors accountable to safety expectations
Project Controls & Resource Management
  • Develop, manage, and monitor project plans, schedules, budgets, tools, and staffing
  • Track cost variances and reallocate funding to maintain project health
  • Challenge assumptions and decisions using strong understanding of design, systems, processes, schedules, and costs
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
  • Build and maintain relationships with project teams, internal and external stakeholders, contractors, and vendors
  • Foster teamwork and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
Performance & Delivery
  • Ensure effective and efficient project execution
  • Apply risk management, business acumen, and decision-making to achieve project goals
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field with 7+ years of relevant experience
    • OR Associate degree with 9+ years of relevant experience
  • Proven experience managing utility or commercial construction projects
  • Competency across all PMI PMBOK knowledge areas
  • Preparedness for specialist-level project management capabilities, including:
    • Construction safety
    • Negotiations and contracting
    • Scope development and control
    • Cost estimating and project controls/reporting
    • Quality control and risk management
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel (~10%)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience with joint venture development or multi-party project collaboration
  • Experience in FERC, PJM, SPP, or MISO projects
  • Demonstrated success leading matrix teams and managing complex schedules, budgets, and resources
  • Ability to optimize project processes and drive continuous improvement
