We are seeking a Project Scheduler to support utility and construction projects. This role develops and maintains project schedules, tracks scope of work, analyzes progress, and communicates updates to project teams using Primavera P6. Ideal candidates have experience in utilities or construction management and strong organizational skills.Responsibilities
Scope & Schedule Development
- Define project activities, durations, sequences, and logic to create accurate scope-of-work plans
- Identify key milestones, deliverables, and decision points for project schedules
- Ensure all scope elements are fully captured in schedules
- Develop, maintain, and analyze project schedules using Primavera P6
- Lead schedule review meetings and document action items
- Provide schedule updates, highlight risks, critical paths, and impacts to milestones
- Communicate schedule status effectively to project stakeholders
- Support adherence to organizational project management standards
- Follow governance guidelines for scheduling, progress updates, and metric tracking
- Learn and apply scheduling best practices for project and outage teams
- Coordinate with system administrators on user roles, security, and access
- Prepare summary-level schedule reports as requested
- Maintain consistent communication with project teams to ensure accurate schedule data
- Associate degree + 3 years of relevant experience OR Bachelor’s degree + 1 year of relevant experience
- Experience in utility operations, project management, cost tracking, forecasting, budgeting, or construction
- Proficiency with Primavera P6
- Strong organizational, time-management, and planning skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently as needed
- Local candidates only (Columbus or New Albany areas)
- Scheduling experience in utility or construction management projects
- Knowledge of project management governance and standards
- Experience with integrated cost- and resource-loaded schedules
- Ability to support and implement scheduling best practices and continuous process improvement
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
