Project Cost Analyst

We are seeking a Project Cost Analyst supporting utility and construction projects by managing budgets, forecasts, cost analysis, and reporting to ensure accurate project financials.
Responsibilities

• Support project managers by coordinating cost analysis, budget tracking, and forecasting across multiple projects.
• Monitor project budgets and ensure accurate reporting of project costs.
• Prepare forecasts, cash flows, variance reports, and estimate vs. actual analysis.
• Assist with budget input in corporate systems and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Support project lifecycle activities including work order creation, procurement coordination, and vendor integration.
• Communicate financial updates and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide training, develop tools, and implement process improvements for project cost management.
• Ensure compliance with organizational project management standards and governance.
• Mentor lower-level employees and support continuous team development.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree + 1 year of relevant experience, or Associate's degree + 3 years relevant experience.
• Experience in utility operations, project management, cost tracking/analysis, forecasting, budgeting, or construction.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work onsite 5 days per week in Columbus or New Albany, OH.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to corporate accounting or project cost management systems.
• Knowledge of earned value management, project scheduling systems, or construction environments.
• Experience mentoring or training team members.
• Ability to support continuous process improvement initiatives.
• Experience collaborating with vendors and external partners on cost integration.
