Project Cost Analyst

We are seeking a Project Cost Analyst, supporting utility and construction projects with budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and reporting.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate project meetings and support Project Managers with documentation and planning.
  • Prepare forecasts, monitor budgets, and perform variance/cost analysis.
  • Assist with SOX compliance, annual budgets, capital forecasts, and five-year plans.
  • Create and track work orders, including coordinating with contractors and vendors.
  • Collaborate with project teams to establish baseline budgets and project breakdown structures.
  • Maintain project records, analyze unvouchered liabilities, and ensure accurate financial data.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Support project management standards and governance.
  • Provide guidance and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical and budgetary issues.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree + 3 years of relevant experience or Bachelor's degree + 1 year experience in Business, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field.
  • Experience in project cost tracking, forecasting, budgeting, or operations within utilities or construction.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and attention to detail skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to corporate accounting and project cost management systems.
  • Knowledge of earned value management and scheduling systems.
  • Experience with construction environments and utility operations.
  • Ability to provide guidance and contribute to team decision-making.
