Construction / Line Coordinator Support

Under some supervision, the Construction / Line Coordinator Support contractor in Fort Wayne, IN performs work activities and projects requiring technical knowledge in a safe, effective, efficient and economic accomplishment of assigned objectives.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Coordinate work activities of others within work group, team or those external to the company including contractors, vendors as required to resolve routine technical tasks and field work activities.
  • Perform varied assignments demonstrating technical knowledge and analytical techniques to solution of problems or analysis.
  • Participate in the planning and organization of outage/project work activities.
  • Make decisions and contribute to team decision making and consensus building.
  • Work with others in both supplying information and seeking assistance as necessary.
  • Provide training and guidance to lower level employees as appropriate.
  • Pursue effective ways to protect and enhance the environment while providing reliable electricity at a competitive cost.
 
1) locations include: Michigan, Muncie, and Ft. Wayne
2) it's an office role but will require visits to the field/worksites
3) the qualified candidate will have utility experience; the preference is someone that has worked on lines but it is not required
4) the role requires reading and understanding AMI data for which client will provide training
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited university or college or an associate's technical degree and 3 years of experience in design, operations, planning, construction or maintenance of systems and/or equipment.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in distribution line or distribution engineering, or equivalent related experience, including good working knowledge of distribution operations activities.
  • Travel requirements are expected & 50% of the time Physical demand level is sedentary
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Listen and identify customer needs/wants.
  • Effectively communicate with team, management, customers, contractors, vendors and regulatory agencies.
  • Knowledge of client's general terms and conditions and the experience and ability to correctly interpret and administer contracts. Apply problem solving skills to resolve technical problems and initiate solution techniques.
  • Demonstrate an attitude and desire to listen to and satisfy both internal and external customers who use and depend upon our work.
  • Position requires working outside in all types of weather and exposure to hazardous materials.
